One of the key takeaways from the day was just how much the same fabric can vary in feel and quality based on its manufacturing process. It’s incredible how two fabrics made from identical materials can feel so distinct, purely due to the difference in how they’re produced. That level of detail and craftsmanship is something we often take for granted, but after seeing it first-hand, it’s something I will never overlook again.
I arrived at the fair just after lunch, and my first stop was meeting up with our consultant, Jon, for a much-needed coffee. His guidance was invaluable throughout the day. Without Jon’s expertise, I honestly wouldn’t have known where to start – the options were so vast that it could have easily felt overwhelming. Thankfully, he was there to steer me in the right direction, introducing me to the best exhibitors for our needs.
Now, the next step is the waiting game. We’ve requested samples from several stands, and once they come in, we’ll be able to assess and decide on fabrics for trousers, shirts, jumpers, and much more. It’s an exciting process, but it requires a lot of patience.
Once the prototypes are ready, we’ll be reaching out to people who might be interested in trying them. If you’re interested in being part of this testing phase, feel free to contact us – we’d love to hear from you!
